The Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA), Rt. Hon Barr Kennedy Chidozie Ibeh, ( Nke-nke Enyi Nachikota Igwe Enyi), has hailed Imo women, particularly the good and loving women of Obowo State Constituency, as they mark the 2022 August Meeting celebration in various parts of their communities.

The Speaker who extended his heart felt felicitation in a Release signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ifeanyi Onyekachi, and made available to the Press, described the women as ” strategic role players who cause remarkable positive happenings in our society whenever they gather”.

While iterating the pivotal role of women in the development of the society, he explained that August Meeting is a collective gathering of women in their matrimonial homes, especially, to chart the course of grassroots progress through prayers, peace making and communal infrastructural development.

He hailed Obowo Women for their tenacity and resilience in ensuring that they foster goodwill and leave Obowo better than they met it.

The Speaker who pledged total support to Obowo women in all their endeavours towards the growth of Obowo, said he shares in their growth and developmental agenda, hence he has placed Obowo first above every other considerations.
He noted that since assumption of duty as Imo Speaker, he has leveraged on the strength of the office to empower so many Obowo sons and daughters, not to talk about so many job placements he facilitated in ministries, agencies of federal and state governments, and infrastructural development which he has attracted to Obowo.

According to the Release, the Rt. Hon. Speaker appreciated the women for remaining outstanding in their support to him and the government of Imo State through prayers and effective participation in government programmes.

He urged them to enhance their support for the 3-R
Government of Governor Hope Uzodimma by appealing to their children to join hands with the government, security agencies and all lovers of peace in their efforts to guarantee a peaceful society conducive for our collective well being.
